Petty Traders get Replacement Capital from Ini Ememobong Foundation and Partners

Petty traders in Major Markets in Ikot Ekpene and Oruk Anam could not hide their emotions of gratitude yesterday when they received replacement capital from the Ini Ememobong Foundation and Partners.

The Donation of the replacement capital to traders by the Ini Ememobong Foundation and partners (Hon. Akan Tommey and Dr Ikpe Ibanga) is done in honour of the Akwa Ibom First Lady Dr Martha Emmanuel to support the post COVID-19 Economic Reconstruction efforts of the Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration.

Under the initiative, a total of N3million naira is to be shared among 300 petty traders (drawn from the three Senatorial Districts) carefully selected by the Market unions and screened by the Ini Ememobong Foundation using the benchmark of felt needs of the traders will get replacement capital to boost their business, as many of these traders may have depleted their capital during the Lockdown.

Chairman of the Ini Ememobong Foundation, and Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Akwa Ibom State, Comrade Ini Ememobong who spoke on behalf other partners said while making the donation at Markets in Ikot Ekpene and Oruk Anam that the donation was the foundation’s way of helping the traders stay in business, as many of them may have fed on their seed capital during the Lockdown declared by government to fight the COVID-19 Pandemic.
